Water won't fill up in toilet tank
The water wasn't filling up all the way in the bowl. Only 1/2 way. So I went to Lowe's & replaced float & refill valve/line. It was too short in the beginning & water was just filling up 1/2 again in bowl. I've read the instruc. Again & it said that I need to make it taller so I've done this & now the tank won't fill up with water. There is no water coming from anywhere!

What kind/brand of Fill Valve did you purchase ?

In the interim: You should get Fluidmaster A400 fill valve. Home Depot and Lowe's carry them. Cost $7.00. The fill stem column can be extended.

What ballcock is in question? (see image) My bet';s on the FluidMaster,(the one on the left.) If You have a FluidMaster ball cock. Shut the water off at the angle stop,(that small fill valve located under the tank) and twist the top of the ballcock counter clockwise. The top shoud come off leaving you with a round washer with a small hole in it. Remove the washer, it is neoprene and the hole has shrunk cutting back on the flow. Replace the washer purchased at any hardware store. Now place a can over the top of the ballcock so water doesn't spray all over and open up the angle stop. You are flushing out the stop and the ballcock supply. Good luck and thanks. For the rate. TOM

If you just installed the fill valve, I would suggest to remove it and take it back to Lowe's and get a replacement, if it is a fluid master 400A, before installing make sure you adjust length see the images, Thanks.
