    Can you help me in getting an idea regarding the average time for getting permanent residency in australia?will ter be any difference regarding time for onshore and offshore applications?

    You can't. Simply stated, if you aren't born there, have family born there who sponsor you in, you can't (with very few exceptions) emigrate there permanently. You can get sponsored in on temporary work but only if you're sporting several letters and initials after your name like ACSE, Ph.D. M.D. etc. in an industry that has a stated shortage of your specialty line of work skills set. I tried, I know, it's 99.9% locked up.
