My daughter is planning a small wedding. Our family is very small (about 7 people). The grooms family is large (about 50 people) They want to invite only immediate family members (about 15 people), how can the groom not invite the rest of his family without hurt feelings?

I would imagine they have already considered who they would need to invite to not hurt feelings as they have the list down to 15. With small weddings there are not too many hurt feelings considering it is not a huge affair.

They could simply explain the situation.In this weak economy,people are cutting back.
They should be sure to tell the uninvited that they will have them over for dinner as time permits after the wedding.
One couple at a time,in keeping with their budget.
