    Is chapter 7 bankruptcy dischargable under criminal restitution cases involvind a minor with parents involed

    Is that dichargable under chapter 7 when parents are involed under what son did

    I don't understand the connection you're making between a criminal case and a bankruptcy. Please clarify.

    It's a very interesting question. I would say no. Restitution is imposed by a criminal court as part of a sentence. I don't think a civil court can remove any of those punishments.

    I see now. I think not, also. I see that in Iowa (for example) Debts for most fines, penalties, forfeitures, or criminal restitution obligations are NOT dischargable by bankruptcy.

    My guess is that this is true in most if not all states.

    What state are you in, nikki? The information might be available online.

    I wouldn't think so. Usually, any court-ordered civil or criminal obligations aren't dischargeable under Chapter 7 proceedings.
