I have a 8hp kolher k181ep on a 3500w gererator. Have put in new points, plug,condenser,and coil and gaped the points at .020. Still have no spark at plug. The fly wheel's key is in good shape. What am I missing?

Disconnect the ignition from any external sources(only connected to the points) and try again. If no ignition is present it is probable external to the engine. Fairly simple engine except for the fact that it blows head gaskets regularly.
