Replacing ceiling switch with ceiling dimmer
    Hi community!

I'm quite OK when it comes to home electricals replacing sockets etc etc but this is an odd one. I have a bathroom ceiling switch with 2 wires coming to it (N & L). The ceiling dimmer switch seems to have 4 terminals; N & L Load and N & Live In. I'm foxed as to which way to wire this up. The packet says 1-way dimmer and I've tried various combinations to get this thing to work. The bulb is fine btw(!). Any ideas?

Are you in the US, or elsewhere?

Most of our responders and "experts" are in the US. There are a few folks who know other systems though.
Check back in throughout the day, I'm sure someone will have the correct information for you.

Hi there, All sorted. I'll put the info here for future users etc.
The N wire is, in fact, live as well. It's a double-pole switch so the red live goes to L In and the 'live' neutral goes to L Load. Had an electrician explain it to me! Thanks anyway.
