    Wiring t-stat for oil burner
Wiring a thermostat on a new patriot oil fired furnace with a isolation relay and a transformer. The furnace is a Heat controller/patriot with a 7184 primary, there is a isolation relay with 4 wires -a red and a white that goes to the primary and they are connected to the TT terminals. Then there is 2 brown wires. Where do the red and white from the low voltage thermostat connect to?

The red and white wires from the thermostat go to the transformer R and W terminal which is where the two brown wires go. The isolation relay seporates the fan center relay from the primary relay so you don't buck the two transformers and burn them out. If you aren't using A/C you can bypass the transformer and Isolation relay and wire directly to TT on the primary control.

Thanks for the reply, I thought that is what I needed to do but the manuals are very poor and do not mention anything about that. The first problem I had was hooking up a old model swg power venter to this furnace and there was no wiring diagrams that showed different apps to these controls. But I wired it as it was wired on the old amstrong and it worked great. Thanks to all and if I can help anyway I will. Carl
