Driving with out being in school
Okay I'm 17 and I dropped out of school September 08. I live and Tennessee and I am trying to Find out if I can get my licences before I turn 18 and with out having to go back to school or get my GED. Does any one know? I mean its not really that big of a deal since I'm turning 18 in August but I'm about to move to Kentucky with my mother and I'd like to be able to drive back to Tennessee every so often to see my dad.

Check with the state Division of Motor Vehicles for final information on getting a license. I am in Virginia and you have to have driver's education (high school course or for pay at a driving school) if you take the learners permit test and fail three times (I think). You will need to take the learners permit (license) test, pass it, take a "behind the wheel" with an instructor if you want to get a license before you are 18. It would not surprise me if this is the rule in most states, not to mention insurance ramificaitons if you do not take educaitonal classes. Good luck and go back to school, you will need either a GED or HS diploma to get anywhere in life--you can do it!
