    Adult Daughter Refuses To Communicate
How do you have a relationship with your 35 year old daughter when she refuses to have a serious conversation with you? We were good friends and I do not know what happened. I do feel her husband contributes to the problem. They visit his parents almost every week, but never visit us.

Try to sit down with her and discuss what the issue is. I recently went through something similar with my parents - there was a pretty big rift for years. I finally had it out with my mother and now things are much better.

There must be a reason why she has drifted away. See if you can find out why.

I have done this and she just clams up. I will keep trying. Thank you.

That's really all you can do. Eventually she will open up and talk with you. It may have nothing to do with you at all. People withdraw for all sorts of reasons.

You have my sympathy our daughter does the same kind of thing with no explanations uses us and abuses us... what they are teaching their own kids is to do the same to their parents

Why don't you invite her out for lunch and maybe some shopping, your treat and bring it up casually.Did I do something to offend you or you just don't like your old Ma anymore*?
Making light of it in a joking way so as not to seems accusatory.

She has made it clear she just does not want to talk.. I have ask her is she would like to go for a walk and says not right now... was not talking to any of her work associates until she had to return to week and is very quiet there & some of them helped her in the move also is just starting to act a little better.. has comm. w/her ex some.. but when he and the kids invite her over she sits on edge of couch hugging her purse (sign of not wanting anyone in) ex fixed easter dinner for all she showed up at 7:30pm after everyone left
