How do I register a lien on a property in ontario?
    Hi,
Someone who owes me money says he is the full legal owner of his house and that he is willing to have a lien registered against the house in my favor for the full amount that he owes to me.

Can I do this myself? If so, how?

I see that one can register a PPSA lien online in Ontario, is there some similar self-do process for property liens?

    Thank you very much

I am wanting to know how to put a lean on a personal property. I have lent this person $9300 to help them keep their home. This happened December 23, 2009. The money was to be paid back by, February 1, 2010, or sooner when their new mortgage came through. The mortgage came through and I was told that there was a miscommication with their lawyer and the moneys for me was not put aside. We were promised that the following year when the mortgage came due again, the I would for sure get the moneys owed me. When I checked to see when it was due, I was told that the moneys went to pay their second mortgage and other bills they owed. I was once again over looked. I would go to small claims court over this and cause a bigger stink, but it is my husbands X wife that we are trying to help. I am tired of being the nice guy and want my money back. The home is in Fenelon Falls ontario. She owns this house as part of a settlement in the divorce, all hers.
