    Child abandonment
I have three children and me and there father was never married and he has not been apart of their lives in the last three years. Our oldest was diagnosed with a life threating disease and 3 months ago. I contacted him and he showed up at hospital for 3 times. I wanted to know if I could get him on three counts of child abandonment and make him sign over his rights. I want him out of their lives. Any advice?

The father of your children can not just sign over his rights. Do you have a support order? He still has an obligation to support his children and the state will help you collect if he is not paying.

He has not abandoned his children under these circumstances and unless he is a danger to them and you can prove it you cannot simply "get him out of their lives."

He's their legal father and has rights which are very hard to take away.

As pointed out to you already, you cannot strip the children's father of his rights. Also as pointed out, he is not guilty of abandonment because he showed up at the hospital when you contacted him.

If I can ask, what happened in the last 3 months that you no longer want him involved? You obviously found it important to let him know his child's condition upon the diagnosis, but now say that you want him out of their lives.
