2000 S10 pickup heater core leak
My S10 has about 88,000 miles. I do not need heat and do not want to spend $ for repair. Can I have repair shop "loop" the two heater hoses taking the heater core out of the system? Or other work around?
I do need air conditioning, will doing this impact the AC system?
Will doing this potentially damage anything else?
I only drive the S10 on short 20 mile trips once a week and one or two trips a month of about 90 miles each.
    Thanks.

The heater core is actually part of the engine cooling system so "let the buyer beware" Yes you can take the heater core out of the cooling system. Not really recommended, but anything can be done.
