Adding sink to room that has working toilet already
Hello to all! I am new and am appreciative of any help anyone can give me :-)
I would like to add a sink to a room that already has a working toilet. There is a basement underneath the room with good, close ( within 5 feet) access to the water lines and the drain (a very large black metal pipe)for the toilet. Is there any way that I can tap into the drain myself? I am pretty sure that (with assistance) I can run the water lines myself but no idea on how to set up the drain. I am not having any luck with having a plumber return my calls for an estimate to do this... maybe too small of a job to bother?
Thank you in advance for your advice!

What are your drain lines made of PVC, cast iron, ABS?

    Hi all..

Thought I would take a chance to post the following visual aid to your questions for Cherry, Bob... :)

PVC pipe is the white plastic pipe in the picture. Cast iron pipe is the black metal pipe and galvanized pipe is the silver pipe.

ABS plastic is a black plastic pipe (no picture attached).

Let us know which type pipe you have Cherry...
