Hi everyone... what happens if 2 people are renting an apartment 1 renter is payng and the other renter is not--are both held liable for the actions of the nonpaying renter? How does eviction work in this scenario in Florida? Thank you

How is the rental set up, does each rent part of the house, or is there one rental and you are not getting the full amount.

If for example you are renting the entire house for 600 and one is paying you the 300, then they are both behind,

If on the other hand, you have separate rental agreement for each, and each are suppose to pay the 300, then you can evict just the one that is not paying, and find a new renter for that other 1/2 of the house.

*** to do this your house has to be zoned as multifamiy and/or a boarding house.
