What is the solution that the Blood Bank use to determine if the hemoglobin is okay for donation? And is it feasible for a person to prepare it for one's own use?

What kind of solution are you talking about?

Do you have anemia? Is it caused by low iron or an illness?

If you are a normal healthy person there is no reason you cannot donate.

I am anemic by low iron, however the Dr. is not that concerned. I have in the past been either turned down by the Blood Bank or iron was low. A drop of blood was placed in a solution and the specic gravity indicated low hemoglobin.

I have in the past felt not up to par, but then I am 68 years old. Still active with jogging, lifting and yoga.

I would like to prepare my own solution to dedict low hemoglobin and take appropriate steps. I do follow a good diet with greens and meats. Also, take a multi-vitamin with iron.

    Thank you for your reply.

I do not know if it is possible that you can develop your own solution as those come from the blood bank laboratories. It takes some schooling to learn about the chemical make-up as well as reading the results correctly.

You may need to take an iron pill to help boost your iron if you are already following a good diet.

Right J9, I think the solution is a secret to the general public.

You can purchase many different tests (FDA approved) online.

See http://www.ebiosafe.com or http://www.homehealthtesting.com just to name a couple.
