Building a computer but nothing shows on the screen
Hello. I'm currently building / putting a computer together. I have all of the cables plugged into the right spots and I have the cpu and fan connected. I deliberately left out the memory and hard drive for now, just to hear the beeps in order to know I'm doing everything right.

    However -

When I start up the computer, it runs fine. The fans come on and stay on - both the cpu and case fan. However, nothing shows up on the monitor screen even though I have the monitor plugged into the vga port on the motherboard and powered from the wall outlet. I also don't hear any beeps although I have the case speaker connected. What could be the problem?

That's because there is no hard drive or memory.

Yeah... it's probably because of the hardrive or memory. This happened to me too before. I'm pretty sure you have to put RAM in for something to come up. Or maybe your monitor doesn't work.
