How do I change a visitation order?
My children's father took me to court for custody. He lost but did receive visitation. He is supposed to pick the kids up at the start of his visitation. First and third weekends and wednesdays. He rarely shows up on his scheduled days and if he does it isn't the right time. He drops by my house whenever he feels like it and I've had to call police to make him leave. He is very verbally abusive to me and sometimes mildly physical abusive (pushing, holding me down) I would like to stop fighting and arguing in front of our kids who are 4 and 2. How do I go about getting the order changed to either supervised visitation or using a pick up drop off site so we wouldn't have to deal with each other? Any help would be greatly appreciated!

Well, if he is being abusve you need to take out a restraining order on him. That would necessitate changing the visitation too.

With the restraining order process you would plea to the courts for a modification to provide relief as a change in custody. That way its taken care of and you won't need a separate hearing / trial for everything.

Basically you need to go back to the court and ask for a modification. Keep a journal. Listing all the times he shows up, instances where you needed to call the police, visitation pickups he missed, etc.

Then take it to court and ask for the modifications. If you do get it modified for pick up/drop off site. Make sure that the court specifies the maximum amount of time you have to wait. So you don't have to sit there for hours waiting for him.
