Hello all, I am looking into buying a small acreage, but there are a few quirks I need to work out before doing so, and to make this place what we really need.
The problem is, I am looking into putting a bedroom into the basement for my wife and I, and also a bathroom, but there is no drain in the basement other than the sump pump, and also the septic pipe doesn't reach all the way to the floor. I'm assuming I'll need a pump for my toilet, but am a little skeptical on putting a drain in the floor and how all that will work. Just wondering if anyone has any experience on this? And if it's worth it. We really love this place and want to buy it, but are trying to be smart about it too. The house is old, about 1923, or so. but has tons of charm and is the best of both worlds, it's an in town acreage, so my wife will be happy about this and also gives me room to roam.

You would have to install an ejector pump/pit for all drains in basement. It is very doable, but requires some work. Are you planning on doing this yourself, or hiring it done. Please let me know.

Your best bet would be to get some quotes from contractors to see how much this job would cost. Then decide if its worth it.

Thanks for the reply, actually I would have the plumbing in the floors etc done by a plumber, but I would put in the shower, lavatory etc. I would think the floor would have to be broken up to some degree. To get the drain for the shower and sink.
