    Best treatment for HyperPigmentation?
Im of african/carribean decent. I've so far being doing glycolic peels, using black soap in the morning and a kojic acid soap at night. I also use suncream during the day. Does anyone know what else I can try. Ive been using that regiment for about 2 weeks, buts its not really doing it quick enough.

Do you know what else I can try that will make it go away faster? PLEASE?

    P.s its on my face

Best treatment for hyperpigmentation- exessive usage of vitamin C, large dosages for about a 1- 2 years as it reduces melanin which causes hyperpigmentation.

Excessive usage of vitamin c and not enough intake of water can cause kidney stones so be very careful.and to do that for about 1-2years to see results is very ridiculous.try something else that could give you faster results

Please know that most treatments takes at least 4-6 weeks to work but you should see an improvement in two weeks.

They've a lot of creams like Hydroquinone out there to use and even some lasers and intense pulse light treatments.

It's always best to see a dermalogist so he or she can recommend something that suits you best because what works for me might not work for you.

Didn't realise I put years, I meant 1-2 months, you'd have to exfoliate to remove dead skin cells, also drink lots of water as vitamin C is water soluble.

Thanks all. I recently started using the Diana stalder kojic acid cream too. This is making a difference, but not quick enough. Do you recommend me taking vitamin c too? Can anyone help with a specific regiment that they think will work?

Remember I got this mark from a glycolic acid burn whilst trying to get rid of another mark from rubbing too hard.

    Hi Topace,

Okey I'll try my best to help

You are Afro.Caribbean so you are dark skinned? if you got this mark as you have said due to the use of glycolic acid your skin is suffering from chemical burn, Actually if this is a recent burn, you could have corrected it by just applying petrolium gelly on the affected area and let it heal naturally.

Since it seems that the problem have been there for quite a while , then that dead skin is now stuck on your normal skin no amount of cream, soaps or whatever can remove that although like a tattoo it will ligthen , because you are applying treatment to dead cells and dead cells don't regenerate.

Actually with proper application it can be corrected by a cream with exfoliating capability meaning having the capability to exfoliate/remove your dead skin, and revitalize the healthy cells beneath it.

Kojic creams helps to ligthen the skin, that's why you will see a ligthening effect, so does bleaching and kojic soaps. But they will not exfoliate

If you are in my clinic, this is the treatment that I will suggest

    1. A good night cream that whitens and exfoliate dead cells
2, A good day cream that revitalize healthy skin cells that have been expose by the night cream
    3. An antibiotic Toner that clears bacterial skin infection and prevent acne during treatment
    4. A good Sunbock at least spf 30 (should be cream not gel or lotion)
    4. A good cleansing Soap you can select any of these (Alpha Arbutin, Kojic Soap, Bleaching Soap)

With this regimen you should see a good result in 7 days

A good dosage of Glutathione should help (look for generic products that contain 100% gluta at least (1000mg gluta)), support it with 1000mg of vitamin C (genererics) and Vitamin E Generics. (generics are unbranded product with the same quality as branded product , I do not know if you have them in your country)

Oh By the way, do not rub your skin, since this will destroy skin cells on your face. Use cotton balls, when you apply toners, and just pat dry your face with a towel before applying creams

In using whitening soaps, do not rub the soap directly on your face, the alchaline in your face will react on the active ingradients of the soaps, besides most ligrhening soaps has exfoliating agent that will rub your skin raw.

Wet your face first with lukewarm water to open the pores, rub the soap on the palms of your hand then use your palm to apply the soap on your face. Live the soap 2 to 5 minutes. Then rinse and pat dry.

Warning : If you feel itchiness or any tingling sensation with your lightening soap, stop using the soap.

    Hope this will help

    Bong

If you can't find a good set in your area, let me know Ill try to help by sending you a trial set by post.

Thank you! IVe already sent you a PM.

I do have a glycolic 10% night cream, they say it does exfoliate?

That should do, but be very caredull with glycolic cream , 10% is too much for young skin (it is good if you are above 40 and you are already immune to glycolic 5%).

The best content should only be .025$ to 1%. 5% will already burn your skin if over used.

So be very careful make sure you only apply a very thin layer like (pea size) and don't use it everyday. You are the best judge on this. If your skin feels hot, itchy or tingly using it.

Big thanks! Im not that old, 19. Do you recommend using the kojic acid in the day still?

I am now taking 1000mg vitamin supplements I hope this will help.

Something that helped me shed A lot of dead skin today was steaming my face for like 5 minutes with a few drops of tea tree oil in the water. When I washed my face after a lot of dead skin loosened up on my problem area!

LOL you are very young, no once a day should be enough for 7 days to 2 weeks. Then use it once every other day. Don't rush the process you'll get there eventually.

T3 Oil is a good exfoliator, but don't use it daily okey. Give time for your skin to breath and recover from exfoliation.

Yup Vitamin C, will help a lot to boost your immune system and let your skin recover faster
    Good luck!!

For somebody so young, forget the black soap It is probably filled with hydroquinone. Stick with kojic soap. You can use it regularly but if you will feel some itchiness or you will notice some rushes on the skin drop it to. The best thing for your skin is an hypoallergenic soap which is a mild soap (pure glycerin).

I usually advice our young clients to use kojic soap in the evening and hypoallergenic soap in the morning. Try Tea Tree in Google, a concentrated tea tree oil will dry up zits very fast

I already have tea tree oil, it does work on zits but I don't really get them. I cannot find any glycerin soap where I am unfortunately only online. But the prices range from £2 to £8, I'm not sure which is best am I looking out for any special ingredients?

But the kojic soap is working well and its peeling. MY natural skin tone from when I was a kid is coming back.

Do you think taking an extra 1000mg of vitamin c a day will help?

2000 mg seems like a lot, talk to a doctor before you take such a large dosage, your system may not tolerate it so well

Hey Topace, I have the same problem from scarring from acne. I just started a new regimen of doing weekly Alpha Beta Combo Peel which is a two step peel. First, put on 10% Salicylic Peel for a few minutes then after that put on %50 Glycolic Peel. I use this one because I still have Acne so using both steps help me acne subside as well as get rid of the acne scars.
I am also using a face cream compound that I mixed myself. I purchased Pure Arbutin and Skinwhite BLE from makingcosmetics.com (they also have other skin lighteners there as well)

Pure Alpha Arbutin blocks epidermal melanin biosynthesis by inhibiting enzymatic oxidation of Tyrosine and Dopa. Promotes skin lightening and an even skin tone on all skin types. Minimizes liver spots

Skinwhite BLE is made from bearberry leaves extract (arctostaphylos uva-ursi) & vitamin C. Inhibits skin cells to produce melanin pigments by inhibiting the tyrosinase activity by reducing melanin biosynthesis, effectively lightens age spots & dark skin areas, very popular in Asian countries to depigment the skin.

I wanted to get there Skinwhite MSH, which is also known as Sepiwhite (the active ingredient in Fair & Flawless). They didn't have it in stock when I made my order, but I am definitely going to get it next time. The Skinwhite MSH is more difficult to work with because it is a powder that must be melted when mixing it into an already finished product whereas Skinwhite BLE is a liquid that can simply be poured into your favorite finished product. Pure Arbutin can also be simply poured into a finished product even though it's a powder.

I also wanted to get Skinwhite MSH over Skinwhite BLE because Skinwhite BLE and Pure Alpha-Arbutin lighten the skin the same way, whereas Skinwhite MSH uses a different mechanism, so I thought combining two different mechanisms into one product would work really well.

I mixed 2% Arbutin and 4% Skinwhite BLE into a 4oz daily face cream I bought from CVS. I haven't been doing this for very long, but hopefully I'll be seeing some great results. I hope this helps. I am not telling anyone to take my advice or anything, I am just letting it be known what I am doing personally for myself. Thank you. :)
