How do I connect to internet after system restore
After doing a system restore on my computer, I can't connect to the internet. A page is displayed that states. Page cannot be displayed.

How do you connect to the Internet? Cable Modem, DSL Modem, Dial-up?

Either a cable modem or a DSL modem will be connected to the computer using Ethernet. I suspect your network drivers may be missing. Right-click on "My Computer" and select "Manage". The window that appears will be labeled "Computer Management". Locate "Device Manager" under "System Tools" and click that. Under "Network adapters", you should have an entry for your network card. Be careful (post your results if you're not sure). Just because you have an entry doesn't mean that it's the right one. If, for example, you have something that says "1394 Net Adapter" that's a Firewire port and it's not an Ethernet port.

If you don't have the proper entry, then you need to locate the drivers for the Ethernet port.

You may have one or more items somewhere with a "?" over them. These are items without drivers. Or, you may have something with a "!" on top of it. These are items that aren't working properly -- usually because the drivers aren't properly installed.

If you don't have the Ethernet drivers, you may be able to locate them on line.

    system restore
Was this a system resotre back to anearlier date or a full system recovery from scratch

    Are you using IE

If so, I would suggest going to tools, interent options and then the advanced tab and click Restore Defaults and when that is done, try to get online again

Anything done since system restore besides the restore
