    Freezing bank accounts
I have to appear in court tomorrow for an old credit card debt. I am 60 years old - retired and disabled (that is our only money) married - husband 60 years old not working and no paycheck in about 5 years. Bank accounts are joint accounts.

I am going to go to trial. I am told that they should not feeze a joint account but would try - they can't take my retirement or disability but would try to freeze the accounts.

My question is - When I go to trial, can I explain all this to the judge so an they can not get a judgement and try to free my accounts? Can I stop them? Thanks

    Hello H:

If they get a judgment, they WILL seize your accounts... I don't know why you think they CAN'T.

Yes, it's true. They can't seize your disability, but once it's in the account, they have NO IDEA that the money is your disability - and they'll for sure, seize it.

You can explain ANYTHING you want to a judge, but if you lose your lawsuit, he's going let the other guy SEIZE your accounts...

That's what happens when you lose.
