    Long black hair
I have been dying my hair black now for nearlly 6 years. My hair is really long nearly to my waist and I want to keep the length but I'm tired of black hair.

I really like deep red hair and would love to dye my hair however I really don't want to cut it.

Any help or advice would be very much appreciated.

    Kind regards

If you wish to color your hair, you'll have to remove the artificial pigment in the hair first. (ColorFix, Color Zap, Color Oops, or Igora Phantom are preferred -- don't use Effasol). You can then dye it the color you wish.

You don't have to cut your hair if you wish to dye it. Note that you've already dyed your hair black, and it damages hair as much to dye it black as it does to dye it red.

You do have to do this additional operation (removing the black and re-dyeing), and that will cause some additional damage to the hair, but if you're careful, it shouldn't be too bad. Remember that when you color the new growth, you must avoid overlap if possible.

A lot of people say, "if you dye it black, you can't go back." Black is, obviously, the most difficult color to remove. However, it can be done if you're careful.
