My mother recently died. Is there any way to legally transfer to another the proceeds that are designated for me as a beneficiary of my mother's trust? I do not want this money -
17K - to be counted as income for me.
Thanks,

How is it given, by will or estate law though probate.
Do you have a specific person or just want to give it away.
I would assume the estate could give it to a charity but you should get a probate attorney to review it
The money will be coming to me in the form of a check issued by the attorney who is handling my deceased mother's trust.
I would be giving it to one of my children. The point here, though, is to completely bypass me as the recipient of these funds in a legal manner.
