Painful period pain while on the pill
Hi there. I have just ended my first month's packet of the contraceptive pill and am currently on the one week break. For the first few days nothing really happened but then yesterday I got my "period". Since then I have had really really painful period pain and also I've been bleeding a lot more than I do if I was having a normal period before I started the pill. Im worried about this because I thought that the pill was aparently supposed to help stop period pain and bleeding was supposed to be a lot lighter :S The pain started getting really bad last night and has lasted right until this morning :( any advice would be great thanks.

The only advice I can give is Pamprin or Midol, a warm bath or heating pad.

Your body is new to the hormones in the pill. It will take a couple of months for everything to get to "normal" If it does not you need to see your doctor and maybe be put on another pill.

Good luck and I hope you feel better today.
