    I have discovered that a bank vice president stole money out of one of my business accounts. How long do I have from discovery of the incident to file charges?

    At some point the Police refuse to take any complaint seriously - why would you wait to report this?

    I don't know at what point the Police refuse to file charges.

    If you have physical proof of this theft of monies go directly to the DA's office and speak with them.

    1 to 3 years, depending on the amount of the larceny.
