My tub drain is almost completely clogged. I had plummers out yesterday and they said
They suspect a drum trap because they couldn't get they're snake through. Their
Suggestion is to tear out the wall to get to the trap and replace it with a J-trap.
Its an apartment on the ground floor also and no other problems with other tennants.
There is no access underneath the apartment building. My question is is it possible to
Get to the trap by tearing out the wall while not causing trouble for the adjoining apartment or do I have to pull out the tub or what do I do to clear the drain?

Drum traps,(see images) can be a pain if they aren't visible. As a rule the cover's left exposed so it can be serviced. Sometimes venal is put down over it. Would this be the case? You won't have to pull the tub but myguess is that you won't find the trap by tearing out a wall. Most likely it's located under the floor. Good luck and let me know what you find. Tom

Thanks Speedball1, I would have torn out the wall for nothing. My question now is do I tear out the floor beside the tub to find the drum trap since there's no access underneath?

First off do not start each post on a separate thread. Add on to this one. ( I merged your post. Back where it belongs)
As you can see a drum trap's located under the floor. If there's no access panel behind the tub drain then cut o0ne in and see if you can follow the drain line to the trap. You will most likely have to open up the floor to clean it out but first you must locate it. You say you have no access underneath. Are you on a poured slab? Let me know, Tom

The apartment is on a concrete slab. I asked the HOA to let me in down stairs but the
Room there is really small with no access to any plumbing at all.
