    x=2x+5

    Take the first equation and solve for "x" (in terms of "y"). Then insert that value in the second equation wherever you see "x". Simplify and solve for "y".

    Once you have "y", put the value in the first equation and solve for "x". Check by making sure that "x=2x+5"
