    Name for society
Please suggest a name for the electronics and communication department's society
To be formed in our college.

    RickJ

    ElectroComm
    EComm
etc... something made of both words...

Or more simply: The ____ Electronics and Communications Society, with ___ being your college name.

    ... just some thoughts... :)

I think that Angel_Wings is wondering what "Plug" would stand for, linnealand. But, I may be incorrect about that...

    Thanks!

    "Plug"

In this case, it carries a double meaning.

(*definitions from plug - definition of plug by the Free Online Dictionary, Thesaurus and Encyclopedia.)

    Meaning number one:
    4. Electricity
    a. A fitting, commonly with two metal prongs for insertion in a fixed socket, used to connect an appliance to a power supply.
    b. A spark plug.
    2. a device with one or more pins which connects an appliance to an electricity supply

    Meaning number two:
    8. Informal - A favorable public mention of a commercial product, business, or performance, especially when broadcast.
    3. Informal - a favourable mention of a product etc., for example on television, to encourage people to buy it"

As a society, a longer reference can be used in a subtitle (as on documentation, letter writing, etc.).

i.e. PLUG: The ____ Electronics and Communications Society

Another word that would work in the same manner is "Spark."

i.e. SPARK: The ____ Electronics and Communications Society

    Tada.

No problem. Thanks for the response. I had no idea what you were saying. I'm still not sure how your post could have been considered a plug in the first place, but I'm considering the case closed. Best wishes.
