    Maryland Military Clause
I have rented to a young man in the military.
I included a military clause in the six month lease that claims: if the sublessee is called away due to military duties or action, the lease is therefor void.
He gave me orders (unsigned) that say he is leaving the military, and terminating active duty. He is moving back to New hampshire. Is he covered? Does the clause cover leaving the military? He gave me the unsigned orders, does that count? And his thirty days would land him at march 7th... does he pay for march? I read in the Servicemembers civil act that : the thirty days begin on the next date of rent due, IE if notice is given the 18th of January, the thirty days begins on March 1 and he can thereofr leave April first without breaking his lease.
Does anyone have info on this?

    Hello a:

Legally speaking, you MIGHT have a case against him... But, in the real world, you'll never collect. He's probably broke, and he's not going to be living in your jurisdiction, making collection almost impossible.
