J1 married to an american how to fill taxes?
    Hi,
I was in United States on J1 visa(working visa). 4 months before my visa ended I got married to an american. How do I do my taxes? As resident(I applied for change of status but got no response yet, I am in a process, it is pending)? As non resident (Like I used to file)? Please help me...
Should I file my taxes with my husband or separatly? As nonresident J1 visa holder I used to get all federal tax back.

J-1 is not employment visa. What group of J-1 are you in? Exchange student, intern, researcher, scholarship student, etc.?

How long have you been in US?
