I have had hard sore swollen boobs since day 9 of my cycle... I really thought was pregnant but started bleeding today day 26.. my periods are never the same in any month ranging from 21-29 day cycles.. only ever lasting 2 days and always brown and sticky never red blood flow.. well no flow at all... apart from wondering why boobs so sore and why feel pg now worried my periods just aren't right,have read a few site this morning tryinng to find an answer and realised women get a flow red or other and only seem to get brown sticky at start/finish of a flow... still feel pg but took hpt on day 19 and today 26 day of cycle both negative,I think I might also ovulate very close to my period(brown sticky stuff)well what periods mean to me...

From your discription, you just have light periods that are not very regular. It is normal to have periods that vary by several days from month to month, and result in brown discharge rather than lots of blood. What you see also depends on what form of sanitary protection you use.

The big question is, did you have sex, and if so, when in your cycle? Generally, there is 10 or more days between ovulation and bleeding. With an irregular cycle, it's not impossible to get pregnant at odd times during the cycle, but two negative tests implies you are not.

What age are you? If you are still in your teens, then irregular light periods are more common, and if your breasts are still growing, they will definitely feel tender.

Hi thank you for your reply... I wish I was a teen.. no in my 30's with a 6year old already... not pg anyway.. yes had sex lots been trying for baby no 2 for some time now.. I wondered if going through the menopause early... dont need tampons etc.. just the odd panty liner... like this for a year now,although had a tough year last year.. and got ms confirmed before xmas 08... so I suppose now that I look at this mailing to you I realise stress has had a lot to do with my periods... been looking up a lot of sites... thanks again... heres to being young again :)
