The shower/tub valve leaks from the handle and the shower can not be actuated why is this and how can I fix it

Need some more info.
Is your shower valve one handle, two handle or three knob,and what kind of divertor spout do you have in your tub see the image below? Can you tell us the brand and the model number of your Valve (faucet) or can you post a picture of the valve and show us where is it leaking from? Thanks.
