Leaving the country on felony probation?
I'm 18 and have been on felony probation since Oct.

I got a withhold, so I am not a convicted felon. (Don't know if this even matters.)

I have paid all of my fees and have a good relationship with my probation officer.

I am set to graduate high school this summer, and my dad wants to give me a graduation trip for my GPA is 3.5 and I am already taking college classes.

I was hoping to travel to China this summer with STA travel. (student travel)

Is there anyway, if I let my probation officer know now, 5 months in advance, if I will be given permission?

I'm planning to speak with my PO next month when we meet.

I'm just restless and would like some friendly insight. I realize this is probably not going to happen and is a dumb question, but I would really like to be able to go.

    Thank you for your answers.

You did not state how long you were on probation.

Yes, you must get prior written permission from your PO to travel outside the country.

Why don't you just postpone your trip until you are off probation? You could have a hard time getting back into this country even if you do have written permission. Do you really want to risk this?
