We are unable to reinstall the HP4315 Ofiicejet printer software. We keep getting this error:
This service is stopped and needs to be running for installation to continue. Click Fix to have the installer start the service.

Service: Spooler
Manuracturer: Microsoft
Descripton: Loads files to memory for later printing
Version: 0/0/0/0


When we try to start the Printer spooler, we get this error

"could not start the Print Spooler service on Local Computer. Error 2: The system cannot find the file specific."

Any ideas how to resolve this?

Have you tried removing the printer or rebooting?

On your Desktop, right-click "My Computer" and click Manage. This will open Computer Management, in the left-hand pane click the + sign next to "Services and Applications" to expand it, and then click on Services and a list of services will appear after a few moments in the right-hand pane. In the name column look for "Print Spooler". Right-click Print Spooler and choose properties;

Look at Startup Type, this should be "Automatic", if not click into the drop down box and select it.

Next, look for Service Status, it should say Started, if not click the START button, click Apply to save changes (if you made any).
