Engine turns over, has fire and fuel, is timed, but will not fire up
Replace the ignitor--it may be firing but not precisely when the ECM directs. If the problem persists, replace the distributor housing (genuine Honda only)--CKP, TDC, and CYL sensors may be bad.
Thanks for the superfast reply, I have removed the coil and igniter to have tested at autozone, I will also check the sensors you mentioned, also the timing, I was told, may be an issue
If the car has 120,000 miles or 10 years on the current ignitor and coil, I would just replace them. My experience with bench-testing ignitors and coils at AZO (Well's machine) has not been good. A number have tested fine that did not work at all. These are very problematic components.
The car has 105.000 miles, when we turned it over, the plugs seemed to have a good blue spark, but seemed to be erratic. Maybe. Kind of hard to tell, I tested the icm and coil aleady with my own multitester using your test procedures and they did seem to be fine, I was going to have them tested at autozone just to confirm, also the brake lights on this car are stuck on and will not turn off, any suggestions for this ?
Try spraying the brake light switch with WD-40.
