Hypothetical:

When does a wife have a right to say no to sex?

Hypothetical situation: We went to nephew's first birthday party. I proceeded to knock down several Jameson's on the rocks. When we returned home, I had several more. I'm more than a bit sloppy. I make a move on wifey. Is it within her pervue to say no?

My answer is yes! Please understand that this is truly a hypothetical situation.

She can say "no" whenever she wishes to do so.

Heck you it's her right to say no. Maybe in the 1800's she would have been burned at the stake but nowadays we gals are actually considered human beings, and therefore we have a right to say no to anything we don't want, even sex with our husbands. ;)

No means no, rape is rape, married or not. So, if she says no and you do it anyway, well, you've just raped someone.

FYI, I would never have survived the 1800's I just can't keep my opinions to myself. ;)

She absolutely would have the right to say no! It's her body, her decision. I agree with Alty, in that anything more would be rape. The sloppy drunk theory would be no excuse in a court of law, although I assume marital rape may be hard to prove to the courts. Although in a situation like this, I would only hope that if something like this happened, there would be two court appearances. One for charges of rape, and the other being a divorce hearing. No one has a right to demand something that isn't theirs to demand, and no means no!

Okay, I guess I was looking for normal responses from wives. As in would they just tolerate it and get it over with? Would they flat out say no!

Would they rebel.

Personally if I ever tried that, my lady would not tolerate the behavior and I'd still hear about it the next few days. Been there and did that years ago.

I personally have never liked having sex with a drunk, for a lack of a better way to say this. You have the right to say no anytime you do not want to, and so does she! If a person is not in the mood, physically or emotionally does not feel like it, or for whatever reason, it is that person's mind and body. Sex for a woman is more a mind thing than a body thing! It does not sound like you were making love to her mind!:)

I don't "tolerate" something that I really don't want, especially sex. Maybe I'm not the best person to answer this, I have sexual abuse in my past, so that's how I took this question.

I have been a wife, and maybe one of the reasons I'm not anymore, is because I refused to have a drooling drunk crawling all over me, and I don't regret making that decision!

I'm a wife and I would imagine it would be OK to say no because he has said no to me before. It's no fun if you're tired and just want to go to bed. Lol

Okay, first this is not something I did. I know better!

This happen at a child's first birthday party. One of the guests was getting really sloppy and groping his significant other. Had it been me behaving like that I would have ended up at my own autopsy!

But I was curious as to how it would play out when they finally got home and so I posed this question to you all.

I understand that all women have the right to say no when they mean no. I do not argue that in the slightest. Nor am I trying to make a case for any male to suggest that "No" is to confusing.

I also realise that males to have the right to say no, however, speaking for me only I can't think of reason in the world why I would ever say no to my wife. I suspect I would fall down on my knees in adoration of her and her brilliant suggestion.

Aw Don, we know it was hypothetical, we just based our answers on reality. You don't strike me as the type of guy who would confuse no with yes, or ever force yourself on anyone, so, no worries, okay? :)

I wasn't basing my answers on the premise of your being the one in this situation either Don. I was using the word "you" as in the terms of the hypothetical situation that you described. I know the in reality, these things do happen. I was just putting in my two cents, for any man OR woman, who would try this approach. I'm glad you asked the question! Maybe someone that thinks this is okay will think twice! ;)
