    Notifications on Receiving Emails
I have hotmail. Is there a way to know when the person to whom I have sent an email - opens it up - is there some type of way to check something like this? Thank you.

Prior to sending the message, go to Tools. Select Request Read Receipt. When the recipient opens the message, you are automatically sent an advisory message.

    Hi, violet0019!

One of the accounts that I have is also a Hotmail one. I don't see a "Tools" or anything about requesting a "Read Receipt". There is a "Tools" in Outlook Express where you can request a Read Receipt.

So, I may be incorrect, but I don't think that there is a way to set Hotmail so that you'll automatically know when someone has opened your email to them.

    Thanks!
