Oxycodone is fast acting and has a half life of 2-3 hours. Oxycontin is long acting and has a half life of about 5 hours. A half life is the time it takes for your body to metabolize 1/2 of the drug. However, these drugs are distributed into skeletal muscle, liver, intestinal tract, lungs, spleen, brain, and breast milk. When they come out in the urine, it is 19% parent drug and more than 64% byproducts of the drug.
Considering this, I estimate that it can take up to 72 hours with poor hydration and insufficient liver function.
But my ultimate recommendation is that you should never take anything that is not prescribed to you specifically. Especially opiates. That is a quick ticket to jail.
