How can I get my ex to leave? Relationship is over. We live in the same house, he wants to stay and continue the 'breakup drama' day in day out. I ended the relationship but he won't go. It is a rental property. We don't have a lease. I have been there for 11 years, he has been there for 2. The owners live next door. He has ingratiated himself with them and they think he is wonderful. I think he is a nightmare. I want my life back. I have no family who can intervene and order him out. Have had lots of 'you must leave' conversations. He agrees. Then refuses to go. I don't want to call the police as the owners next door will freak and I don't want to find myself evicted. Help! At my wit's end.

The easiest solution is to pack up and leave yourself. If you don't have a lease then leave him to deal with rent and everything else. I'd make sure this is legal first, because you might be stuck paying rent even though you feel like you had no other option.

Another thing is to have him legally evicted, that might be the harder of the two, once again you'd have to find out what's legal or not where you live.

As far as I know he has a legal right to be there, he's lived there for 2 years, it's his residence too.

I suggest talking to a lawyer to see what your options are.

There must have been a lease at some point. It may be month to month now, but there is a likelihood there was one initially.

You better tell your landlord to give him his 30 day notice, or give it to him yourself.

If he won't leave then you leave.
