Waiting period after judge approves house sell
Long and short of a very messy and frustrating situation... Got a contract on our house, had an emergency hearing to get permission to sell the home, permission was granted... we thought that all was over until we were informed that there is a 10 day waiting period after it has been approved?? Our lawyer made no mention of this, (in fact he told us that the closing could take place if the sellers wanted to that day and the papers would be sent over that afternoon) it was the buyers lawyer who informed us of this. Is this a new law or is our lawyer just not doing his job properly?

Welcome to AMHD. I do not see what state you are from, but most likely the judgement is from a state court. The 10 day period could be for the purpose of allowing an appeal from an aggrieved party; or the time necessary to get an order drafted, approved, signed, and filed.
