Water shut off to shower in the middle of taking a shower, but toilet and two other sinks in same bathroom have water, what gives?

Sounds like you have some crud that came loose from the pipe walls and when
You make a draw it sucks it on up into your shower valve. Whem you shut it off the crud falls back down until you make another draw. To tell you more I'll need to know the type of shower valve,( one handle or two knobs?) the brand and how old? Let me know. Regards Tom

I have a knob for hot and cold and a knob to turn the shower on, no water out the faucet or shower head thanks
