Single parent: how should I separate the time btwn myself & his father?
I'm thinking of breaking it off with the father and want to know if I was to do so, how should I divide the time up btwn the 2 of us? I hate the fact the he has to keep going back and forth btwn us 2 but it's reality if the parents aren't together anymore.. right? I don't what him to stay with the father too long because I'm going to miss my little guy dearly :(

One week at each house ( joint physical and legal custody) is very common now aday.

And in fact it is not really totally "your" choice, the child is both of yours and he has as much right to help decide also.

How old is the child. Since my daughter is of school age she goes to her father house every other weekend. Me and her father decides what holidays we split. For example, I might have her for Christmas and he has her Thanksgiving or I've Christmas morning and he takes her in the afternoon.

The both of you are going to have to sit down and come up with a plan.
