    Ceiling fan replacement
How much should I pay to have a ceiling fan replaced in the suburbs of Chicago?

If the existing fan was properly installed, it is very easy to replace, and you can probably do it yourself.

I don't know the going price-- TKRussel might be a good one to ask. Or I could do it for cheap next time I come to Chicago :)

Hey Greg, I'm in your neck of the woods and here is an honest answer. You should pay about $50 to get it installed, the trick is finding someone to do it. If you hit the yellow pages and hire an electrician (way overkill) you could be more than 3x my estimate. This is little more than a average handyman job. Places like Home Depot often offer installation for a fee, ask them for an estimate and then you have a starting point.
