Fix new faucet to new sink
I replaced my cultured marbled bathroom sink with a granite countercop, apparently granite is 3cm thick and c.m. is 2cm thick, now when trying to hook up my old faucets, the supply lines are too short the tailpiece of the fixture is too short for the coupling nut to attach, is the fix get a new faucet? And if so where do I find a faucet with longer tailpieces? (I thought they were all the same standard size?)-sitpit

Tail pieces and supply lines come in various lengths and materials. Go to a home center and simply buy longer ones. I prefer barided stainless steel supply lines and PVC drains.

    Hi all...

Sitpit: If I understand you correctly.. you will need to replace the faucet. They do not make extensions here.

My guess is that the cultured marble top is pretty old and when they made the faucets back then the threaded shank was not as long as they need to be for today's granite tops.

Be careful here, however, as some of the cheap model faucets still short the shank... ;)

Stick with Moen, American Standard, etc... the trade names... as they almost all have longer threaded shank needed to install in these thicker granite countertops!

Let me know if need more info...

Mark are we reading the statement differently. The Op states "the supply lines are too short the tailpiece of the fixture is too short "

    Hello Sitpit,

Please make it clear are the faucet threaded shanks short or the supply line would not reach (short) if the threaded shanks are short follow marks advice, and if the supply lines or short follow Bob's advice and you can find longer tail pieces, good luck.

    Regards to all
