Remote switch for a hampton bay fan
I have a hampton bay windward 2 gossamer fan controlled by a handheld remote. The remote functions all work fine (light. Speeds, reverse, etc... ). The problem is finding a wall switch to match the fan. The fan obviously has a receiver built into the motor head unit for the remote to function, but I am trying to find a wall switch that functions on the same frequency so I control the functions mentioned above. I have tried several switches, all with their own canopy modules, but to no avail. I am stuck at this point with a basic on/off switch at the wall box. If I only had the fan running, without the light on when I turned off this switch, I cannot turn on the light when I enter the room and have to search the room for the remote to do so. Anyone with any suggestions??

It is my understanding that the Gossnamer Wind series uses a pretty unique remote, with thermostatic functions and other sorts of goodies. Even if you could find a wall control on the same frequency, I am not sure there is any guarantee the commands would match up and it would control the fan. You can contact the manufacturer, and/or try whatever Hampton Bay brand controllers are sold at Home Depot. You Won't want to use the canopy modules that come with the switches, because the fan already has a receiver in it. You're trying to find a control that matches that receiver.
