My daughter was arrested today for shoplifting grand larceny. She has anorexia nervosa and ocd. She is very ill. How can I keep this felony off her record. She wanted to be ateacher, with a felony she will not be able to.

She needs an attorney for this type of thing. It cannot be done by herself. It could be done possibly with the attorney's help, but there is no guarantee when it comes to the final resolution of the case.

She will need an attorney and they will have to work out a dea to get charges droped, or they will have to get her found not guilty, if she is found guilty, it will be on her record

Unless she's a PROFESSIONAL shoplifter, or walked out with 15 grocery carts, shoplifting is a misdemeanor and the charge of GRAND larceny will be dropped.

I depends on the criminal background, the judge you appear in front of etc... There are a lot of factors that determine if you do jail time or not. Could be probation, home monitoring, the charges may even be dismissed. No one can give you a yes or no answer on this question.
