My mom is 77b years old and not able to complete her 1 year lease agreement that she signed 3 months ago. Her memory is failing and we are worried about her living alone. Talked with management on how the lease could be terminated and they basically told me no. Even though it is not feasible for her to live alone any longer. If we give them 30 days notice and move her out, what are the chances of them taking her to court? Social security and retirement benefits are her only source of income. We need to move her in with us as soon as possible. Can you help?

You have to negotiate an early end - which you have tried to do. In many States you can break the Lease if the person is moving to assisted living.

I would ask what management wants by means of a buy out if you have no other choice, and you very well may not have another choice.

I think will they sue, are they a big corporation, they just sue automatically every month anyone that moves out.

If they get a judgement, they can merely wait till she passes and put a claim against the estate
