What causes a sewage pump to stop working?
My sewage (ejector) pump is not working. It is on the same circuit as the furnace and a refrigerator. It has been this way since before we moved into the house back in 2001. The original pump went out and was popping the circuit breaker. We replaced it. Then that pump went out after a few days and it was popping the circuit breaker. This third pump worked for 2 months and it stopped working but it is not affecting the circuit breaker. The first 2 when they stopped working you could hear them hum but this 3rd pump is totally dead. No humming or anything. You can hear the water run into the well that the pump is in but the pump is dead. What could be the cause of the pump not working?

My concern would be why the three pumps went belly up in such a short period. Asforthe last one I would start at the breaker and work my way back until I lost power. Let me know what you find. Good luck, Tom
