CTR TV 76cm sound but no picture
Just want to know if there is any point in getting my TV repaired?

I switched the TV on made a loud noise and I had sound but no picture. I switched it back on but still the same dead screen only sound.

If it isn't to expensive we would like to get it fixed but if it is going to be expensive ,then we don't think it is worth it .Is 6 years old with 1 repair so far in power supply
    Thank you

The most common cause of picture failure in CRT TVs is a shorted output transistor in the horizontal deflection circuit (sorry, this probably means nothing to you :-)

What I'm getting round to saying is this is relatively easy (for a technician) to fix, and may not cost too much. However, the fact that it has failed at all, plus your previous history of failures (in what I consider a 'young' set) points to a generally poor design or build quality, and you might be better off getting something of better quality.
