Ethics re: CPA designation on business cards
I recently went to work for a company that contracts with physicians to manage their practices, that may sometimes include preparing their monthly financial statements.

On my business cards, is it ethical to use my CPA designation after my name?
Or, must I omit this designation since we are not preparing these financials as a CPA firm?

You can use CPA, just like a propfessor could use PhD. It's a valid professional designation.

If you are a CPA why would you ask this question... It would seem you would already know.

I am a CPA, but have only worked in industry, preparing financials just for the company I worked for - not for 3rd parties that contracted with the company I worked for.
As such, I have always used the designation on my business cards, but am now concerned that it may not be appropriate in my present situation.

As a CPA, I do not know everything about all accounting matters. I am simply seeking advice from someone who perhaps has similar experience with a matter such as this.

Well I agree with Scott on this one...

Sorry didn't mean to offend just seemed like an odd question.

    No offense taken.
Yes, it does seem odd. I hadn't thought of this aspect until someone brought it up as I was ordering my business cards.
    Thanks for your input!
